The Technological Roller Coaster

Journal Entry Date: 22 Jan 2004

Thought for the Day: Only I can master myself and only by the small choices made every day.

Thank you, Lord, for a restful evening.

Brought to eye/mind today: Thinking about how rapidly technology evolves and the impacts that it has on our daily lives. About ten years ago the internet was being born to the general populace. There were not cell phones in general use what--five years ago? Certainly not ten years ago. Each new generation of technology is built on the preceding one and the older generations are as good as dead (try using a computer with an Intel P90 processor in it.)

And the technology seems to consistently make it easier to live isolated lives.

Meantime life appears to be moving at fast-forward, little seems to last. Maybe we need to slow down for our own mental health. Or at least center more on inner, rather than outer, development.

Journal:
>Went to bed late last night (a new computer game), but not so tired today.
